Designer's Showcase Meet the Artist ... Doug Fisher Doug has always been drawn to the inherent power exuding from the art of indigenous cultures from around the world. He carves the design onto the wood, which gives them an old-world, timeless quality through the dyeing process. For greater depth, he turns the wood three or four times, each time on a different axis, thus achieving a different perception of depth. For a closer look into his techniques, please see the full article in Issue 21. Doug welcomes your questions and comments and can be reached by e-mail at douglasfisher@shaw.ca. If you would like to see more of his work, please visit his website at www.douglasjfisher.com. |
